Electrical engineer and television star Grant Imahara passed away at the age of 49 due to a cerebral aneurysm, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Imahara became world famous as a member of the Mythbusters team. The US documentary series by Discovery was produced between 2004 and 2018 and broadcast in this country under the name MythBusters - Die Wissensj├Ąger. Grant Imahara was part of the "construction team" of the popular series from season 3, who built the sometimes wacky test models and prepared experiments that the two Mythbusters front men Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage had thought up beforehand.

Grant Imahara was most recently seen at the side of the other two Mythbusters construction team members Kari Byron and Tory Belleci in the Netflix documentary White Rabbit Project, of which only one season was produced. In the series of Mythbusters producers, the three actors scrutinized the best inventions and coups in history.

In a tweet, Kari Byron expresses dismay at Imahara's death and writes: "Sometimes I wish I had a time machine." Tory Belleci said in a tweet: "I just can't believe it. I don't even know what to say. My heart is broken. Goodbye buddy."

Mythbusters main presenter Adam Savage tweeted goodbye to Imahara with the following words:

I can not believe it. I have no words. For the past 22 years, Grant Imahara and I have been part of two large families. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist, and performer, but also a generous, carefree, and gentle person. Working with Grant was so much fun. I will miss my boyfriend.
