What does the word Frijolero really mean?

Molotov is a crossover band from Mexico. Their style is similar to that of Rage Against the Machine, but the lyrics of the band are mostly written in Spanish.

The band was founded on September 23, 1995 in Mexico City. Through the album ¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas?, especially the piece Gimme tha power, the band also became known in Europe. The title is a parody of the so far most successful album by the Mexican pop rock band Maná, ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños ?. Out Where will the kids play? becomes Where will the little girls play?. The sexual allusion is made clear by the album cover.

Around the turn of the millennium, the band could often be seen live, for example at the Warped tour 1999, a punk rock or skate punk festival with the doctors and Blink-182, or at the one in a similar environment Flying high-Tour 2000 with bands like Sick of It All or No Fun At All. But the band has also been touring the world solo.

In 2005 Molotov recorded a success by using the song as the theme song for the PC and console game Total Overdose by Eidos Interactive Molotov cocktail party which can also be found on the 2007 PSP implementation Chili Con Carnage. The song that also appears in the game Apocalypshit the band was also used in the pilot of the Breaking Bad series.

Since January 12, 2007, rumors have been circulating about a possible separation of the band. This rumor was announced as partially false on the Myspace page in September. Molotov broke up, but only to allow each of the four band members to write their "own" songs. These were then named on a CD Eternity (Eng .: play on words between "forever" and "he / she lies") published.

Some popular songs are:

  • Gimme tha power(¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas?)
  • Puto(¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas?)
  • Frijolero(Dance And Dense Denso)

On the album Con Todo Respeto there are two cover versions of originally German-language pieces - amateur, a cover by Falcos Rock Me Amadeus and trios Da da da.
