How do I prepare cold coffee

Cold coffee or iced coffee can also be made differently than most people have known up to now. And that by letting the time work instead of heat in order to get a delicious coffee.

The cold water has a few hours to develop the aroma of the coffee.

The taste is much more pleasant, gentler and milder. You can taste much less bitter substances, the aromas develop differently than when the coffee is poured with hot water.

The resulting concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Coffee that is ground as coarsely as possible, your favorite type, preferably freshly ground shortly before preparation. But that doesn't have to be the case, but you get a better flavor.


  • 250 g coffee powder
  • 1 L cold water
  • 1 jug, 1 sieve, 1 cheesecloth or whoever has, uses a pressurized coffee jug

After the steeping time


  1. Pour the coffee powder into the container / pot and pour the water over it, stir everything well once and place in the refrigerator for at least 12-24 hours. Preferably overnight.
  2. The next day, the coffee is poured through a sieve and cheesecloth. (Or just in the pressure can, the powder pressed down). It is now practically a coffee concentrate. The long steeping also releases more caffeine.
  3. You mix the coffee 1: 2 or 1: 3 with water, depending on your taste, you can experiment with it, it's completely individual.

Ice cubes make a great iced coffee out of it.

Add milk or cream according to taste.

Sweeteners with a sweetener of your choice.
