Can God stop an unstoppable force?

With all his might: How the Holy Spirit works

Around 100 countries on all continents were at the reception during the service on June 9, 2019 in Goslar (Germany). The sermon revolved around the Bible verse from 1 Corinthians 12:13: "For we are all baptized into one body by one spirit, we are Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, and are all watered with one spirit."

Pentecost celebrates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. However: “That is a little abstract,” said Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider. God the Father be tangible as the Creator and the caring Father. God, the Son, can be specifically recognized as Jesus Christ. But one cannot get such a picture of the Holy Spirit.

In the Church of Christ

“One can only experience the Holy Spirit. You can recognize the Holy Spirit by his work, ”emphasized the Chief Apostle. This makes it very concrete: Since the foundation of the Church of Christ, many people have recognized Jesus Christ as the Son of God, have been incorporated into the body of Christ through baptism and have carried the message of the Gospel to the furthest corners of the world.

In all persecution, suffering and need, the Holy Spirit had strengthened the Christians away. Despite all human wrongdoing in the church, people would not have given up faith in Jesus Christ. "We thank the Holy Spirit for having worked so powerfully through all these centuries."

In the apostleship

Since the office was filled again, the Holy Spirit has been working powerfully through the apostles: Believers could receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, receive Holy Communion, and be prepared for the bridal congregation.

“Even the apostles are only human,” Chief Apostle Schneider saw mistakes there too. But such imperfections would never have prevented the Holy Spirit from working.

In the communities

The New Apostolic Church counts around 60,000 congregations worldwide. "The fire of the Holy Spirit burns there." This applies not only to the International Youth Convention with its over 30,000 participants, but also where only a handful of brothers and sisters in faith come together. "The Holy Spirit is not tied to a number."

And he also works in all situations, the Chief Apostle addressed, among other things, congregations in refugee camps or prisons. "They have nothing, but they receive the fullness of salvation through the power of the Holy Spirit."

In the heart

May the Holy Spirit also work mightily in brothers and sisters in faith. Let many set an example in the way they carry their burdens while remaining faithful to Jesus Christ. “You can only be amazed and admire them.” And many others put themselves in the service of the congregations and stuck to it - despite all the inconvenience. "You allow yourself to be led and guided by the Holy Spirit."

As examples of what brothers and sisters in faith mastered with the power of the Holy Spirit, Chief Apostle Schneider pointed out when he called on the fellow ministers: District Apostle Helpers David Devaraj, Kububa Soko and John Fendt represented the persecution of Christians in India, the refugee camps in Africa and the economic hardship in Central America. They agreed: "Nothing could stop the Holy Spirit, nothing ever will."

“Nobody can stop the development of the kingdom of God”, reminded the Chief Apostle of Jesus' words about the seed in the earth. “There are many reasons to thank God the Holy Spirit. Glory to God the Holy Spirit. He will finish his work. "
