How is UCSD for CS

Dr. Urbanic has been UC San Diego's medical director at the Proton Center since the center was operational. He was instrumental in developing a University of California proton therapy consortium that provides proton therapy to patients from all UC health systems.

Dr. Urbanic specializes in a variety of radiation therapy and radiosurgery techniques and has extensive experience in the field of proton therapy. He has developed academic courses to train general practitioners and practicing physicians and teaches at the UCSD School of Medicine as a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Medicine. He is an integral part of several national cancer research groups developing large clinical trials in lung cancer, breast cancer and brain tumors, and has published extensively on these topics. Before UCSD, Dr. Urbanic's lung cancer, breast cancer, and body radiosurgery programs at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Before studying medicine, he traveled the world as a navigational and engineering officer with the US Merchant Marine. Dr. Urbanic is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
