A visit for nature lovers. The road from Ashura-fest to kudremukh is especially beautiful. In fact the entire section from Hassan to kudremukh is great.

Very nice, especially during monsoon storms
Went for a monsoon trek to kudremukh peak. It was a great experience. It's a good piece for starters. You drive through different types of landscapes which makes your experience wonderful. It is also highly recommended that you live in a local homestay during your visot there.

One of the most scenic treks I have ever been on. We just wanted to trek this mountain range to get some monsoon adventure. A lot of planning went into the 1st organization for the jeeps from base to Rajegowda's home. The drive is a killer and you will be overwhelmed by the skills of the jeep driver who binds you with some thriller / horror stories if you ask.
Hire a guide (it is easy to get lost). You can have breakfast & pick up your snack at Rajegowda in the house and you started on the hike.
There is a minimal fee to be paid to go to the forest department office and also to sign the name before starting.
The slope is low, even beginners can do the trek. Since it was the rainy season, we prepared for some blood clammy absolute blast.
The climb was just beautiful and the view of the valley from the peak (1894 m / 6213 ft). You can see the power of the strong wind in the peak and if you are lucky, the fog will appear and you can see the view which is worth every step towards the peak.

Set a target time at which you start your return journey. You don't want to get stuck in the woods after sunset.

Plan your trip well!

This is considered to be the highest peak in Karnataka. Scenes from here are very beautiful. Loved the atmosphere all around.

Great place for the outdoor junkies and nature lovers. You have to trek up a hill to get to the peak, but it's worth it. Great views. The only pity is that many visitors leave the place flooded.
Avoid the monsoon months and November - January.
